I was over at Don-A-Vee Jeep yesterday to check out their JK inventory and what should I find but one that was up high on a ramp. Need I say, I was able to take the most extreme underside shots of the Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimited to take to date. Check them out at my photo gallery:

Is it just me, or do those lower A-arm/shock mounts on the rear look like they have "SMASH ME" written on them?

Naw, they're a lot like what the TJ's have now and are far back enough that they stay out of trouble most of the time. And, even if they do take a hit, they are pretty thick steel and will take the hit.

Somewhere I saw a picture of someone's smashed up and mangled rear shock mount. There are a few companies that make relocation brackets that I'll personally look into at some point.

Nice shot! Looks to be a manual since I'm not seeing a tranny/oil pan skid...?

Great pics! I feel like playing "Name That Part." Someone with some time (OK, a lot of time) should photoshop arrows pointing to different parts and have people identify the parts.
Really cool pics! Thanks WOL!

Why does the muffler look to be black and mine was silver when it was new? Now mine has a nice "burn" mark near where the tailpipe exits and its getting nice and rusted looking...

Revisiting the pics shows how to add a couple hundred pounds easy.
Just drive the Jee[ through mud. There are enough large holes in the frame that will suck up mud and water filling it up and harden. :(
I'd slap some silicone sealer on some patches of metal and cover the holes if I went through mud.

The holes in the frame are for water to escape so they don't rust out and your Jeep breaks into out on the trail.:eek2:

Why does this jeep have a u-joint for the front drive shaft, and most have that retarded cv thing?
edit: I see the rear has the cv, not the front. WTF?

No rust inhibitors inside, mud will stick, contains moisture, great source of rust from the inside out. Holes are actually for other reasons, access to bolts/nuts, mounting holes, etc. There are also holes in the Jeep body and I'm not speaking of the ones in the floor pan to let the water out either.

Thanks for the pics. I don't see any room for two 6volt AGM batteries. Guess they have to go inside.
