Where did you find a Superlift brand kit in stock? I've got one ordered, but the company hasn't gotten any yet.

I am really curious to know how it drives now with the lift. Have you changed the gears. Anyone know whether the rubicon's gears/ 4-10's if they would be ok without changing with a 4" lift running 35's. What you have done to your jk is exactly what i have in mind for my jk rubicon unlimited .. but not to sure if i will have to change ds or gears.??

I'm trying to answer all the questions I can
I personally did not drive this jeep stock. But I have driven it with the lift and tires and it does GOOD on the road we have not taken it off road yet But it does have a good bit of power. It drive, handles, and feels a whole lot smoother than my '03 TJ (4.0 4"lift and 33's)
We ordered the lift from Quadratec about 3 weeks ago had it in hand about 4 days later, they did have to drop ship the shocks directly from Skyjacker. The lift went on GOOD after we got THE RIGHT SHOCKS from Skyjacker but some of the instructions were hard to follow and the pics suck. This is only the second lift I have ever done and the first for the other guys (the owner and his brother) but we have been working on cars for a while.
They accually got the rims locally after a run around with a few web sites
we didnt do anything to the driveshafts (accually no mods just bolt on) and the JK REALLY does handle the lift GREAT. It MIGHT and I mean MIGHT need gears later but it really dosnt feel like it. I mean it is always better to upgrade but you could still do some great offroading and add them later when they come out and they are affordable.
again I did not drive this jeep stock but the acceleration seems to be good (Your not going to win any races with it) but it still has good power. My TJ seems torqueier (if thats a word) with the 4.0L but also jerkier. I would have NO problem using this a a daily driver.

Hey 58sled,
My 4" lift from Skyjacker showed up last night. The install directions leave a lot to be imagined. Did you find a better set of directions or did you trial & error it?
This will be my first lift but I'm set up with the tools and I'm pretty mechanically inclined.
I figure I'l tackle the rear tonight since it should be a little easier and take on the front tomorrow night. (Sounds like Fun):rotflmao1:
I have the 35 x12.50 Mud Grapplers from Nitto ready to install.
By the way my Jk is the same color. My boys were pumped to see what we'll hopefully be looking at in the near future.
Thanks for the picture. Any pointers would be appreciated.

for the rear be sure to put the track bar in the top hole of the track bar relocator (we had it in the lower hole and i think this was causing some ESP issues) not sure if the instructions indcated that.
for the front on the NEW lower control arms the greese fitting just push in we thought they threaded but we just lightly tapped them down with a hammer. also the off set on the lower control arms goes toward the center of the jeep ><. THis was very hard to understand IMO. the tires WILL RUB if you put the lower control arms on with the off set out <>.
be sur to check your shocks they sent our front shocks in the right box but wrong shock inside.
hope this helps
Jacks stands, floor jack and hand tools should do the job
Glad to hear its a family project. ENJOY And PLEASE POST PICS.

What's the overall height of the vehicle and ground clearance to side steps?
This is exactly what I plan on doing to my Rubi, unless it doesn't fit in the garage.

I almost completed the 4" skyjacker on the rear of my jk last night.(By myself) Is there a trick on installing the top bushing and the pass thru pins located at the top of the new rear shocks. I really struggled with them.
I also noticed that the instructions from skyjacker showed the rear sway bar extensions(whatever there called) both on the outside and inside of the rear sway bar. If they're mounted on the outside the align is better; more of a vertical position but look like they could possibly get a tire. If they're mounted on the inside they look crooked. Do you remember what you guys did with them?
I snapped a few pictures this morning but the light wasn't very good in the basement. The rear tires look great in place.
I plan on working on the front this evening. I'm assuming its a little more complicated and may take two evenings to complete.
So far So Good.

shroom14 is the owners brother and the jeep is at his house I will call him and ask him to check on this.
As far as the Bar pin and bushing for the shock put the bar pin through the bushing then use LOTS of WD40 on the shock hole and bushing and push through. I used a vise to push mine through but I also heard of people using channel locks. GOOD LUCK it is kind of a pain
check back shroom14 should have some info up later.

the trick to bushingand bar pin for rear shock is to put the bar pin thru the bushing then with alott of wd40 2 set of channel locks and alott of 4 letter words they will go thru pretty easy i have a pic of the rear sway bar extensions but dont know how to post itbut it is on the inside

There are alot of different ways to get the pin in the bushing, but the way I have always done is put the bushing in the shock and start the pin in the bushing then with a bench vise or c-clamps press it through you can apply alittle grease, but they usually pop right in place.

I don't mean to hijack, but how do you like the new Kumho KL-71's on your TJ? How do they ride? Did they take much weight to balance?

THANKS RUBIMON.....I fell in love with the Light Kahki Matalic when I saw it and had to beat out 2 other people for this jeep it would also look great on the JK..
the kumhos are holding up great. I have had them for about 4k miles. They are pretty quite and ride good in the rain. I am very satisfied and get loads of complements. I have not tried them offroad much. I bought them from tirerack.com

Hello fello JEEPERS, got 2 questions for anyone who could answer them. (1st) is On the skyjacker web site it shows a JK with a 4" lift with factory Rubicon wheels. I would like to know what tire size? (2) KILBY jeep shows what looks like a mopar wheel but not sure? and what size tire is on the jeep. I would really appreciate it .:)

On the Kilby JK, I have been trying to find out the specs on it also, it looks just right. I know he is running Maxxis Bihorn 305's on the Mopar beadlock wheel (made by Hutchinson). It looks like about 4" of lift.
