How to access hood latches?
Hello.
I wanna paint my hood latches flat black, but I am having a problem. I was able to remove part of the latch that was bolted on to the hood but how do I access the one inside? I took off the grille but then I noticed that did not help out at all. Do I need a long reach wrench of some kind, or do I need to pull apart more stuff in order to reach the bolt? I am talking about this part of the latch in case you are confused:

(these are not my latches, if they were I would not be posting this, these are for illustration purposes only)
Thanks.

Don't paint them... get some 303 Aerospace Protectant or Mothers Back to Black to get them looking like new and protect them... (the 303 being the best) the paint will come off and look like crap in short order.

I have said it on here a couple of times before, but I will say it again. Car systems refinish/restorer is the best product I have ever seen for restoring plastic. I used to drive a 2002 Chevy Avalanche that had tons of faded plastic as did everyone on the Avalanche web site. This fixed everyones problems and last from 6 months to 1+ years. I have already put it on my Jeep, but since it is only a few months old all it did was make it easier to clean up and shined them up a little.
