This is for us northerners -- you southerners can rub it in a little. I was able to grill on Wednesday. Broke out the coals and cooked some potatoes in foil along with marinated italian dressing chicken. Their won't be too many more days of grilling until the weather warms up, but I am always waiting for a nice day to grill.

How about getting a smoker? The scent should drive the neighbors crazy, just keep adding coals and chips. :)

I BBQ year around. Even when there is a few feet of snow on the ground. Although it takes noticable longer to cook when its that cold out :)

I have wanted to get a smoker for a few years now. I don't know a ton about using one yet, but am very willing to learn.:)

my grill stays out year round, nothin better than a good BBQ when its minus 20, and you dont even have to chill the beer.

With a high today or 35 degrees I'm thinking that Spring will be the next time I can get the grill out.

Big Green Egg. There are other equivalent ceramic kamodo smokers, but the BGE is what I have. I have seared a steak at over 800 degrees, then finished it at 400. Dropped the temp down to 200 and smoked a pork butt overnight. All on the same load of charcoal. The thickness of the walls are great insulation which means those cold northern winters will have less effect on temperature and cook time. There's a regular poster on the BGE forum who is from Alaska. Here's a link to the forum. h$$p://www.eggheadforum.com/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&Itemid=112&func=showcat&catid=1
There are probably better smokers or better grills, but there isn't a better overall cooker than the BGE. There are other ceramic cookers that are as good as, and may have some advantages to a particular person over the BGE. The BGE was the best for me, mainly because of the local support network.

Me too grill all year long. Nothing like opening the garage in a snow storm and grilling ribs, chicken kabobs (Burgette we use Italian dressing too) or nothing wrong with 4 or 5 large Porter Houses.
Thinking about it maybe I should grill for Christmas dinner:ya:

Just did a cheeseburgers the other night. Deck is on the north side of the house and theres an open field behind the house. That north wind sure gets chilly out there. :yup: But nothing beats cooking out on the grill.

Wish the QView was a little bigger. Looks great though. I will start smoking again in the spring. I can't wait.

Sorry, that was a quick pic from my Facebook, I was too eager to tear into that beef to take my time, but yes, it was great, I am ready to move from Osage Orange to some oak or Mesquite . Happy Smoking to all.

Turkey heading for the grill down here in time for Xmas lunch....
I smoked our Christmas turkey for 16 hours. It was perfect because we had 4 inches of snow here in NW Fort Worth. My wife still thinks I was crazy. Oh well, the turkey was great! :yup:

I break the bird up to make it work better in the BBQ
- The legs get boned, stuffed and rollled then cook for 3 hours
- The breasts are then roasted on the bone for 60-90mins so they don't dry out
I've got to give smoking it a go...

Packing up the the wife and kids this weekend and taking the Jeep to Phoenix to see her sister. I think we will throw some Colosimo's Tuscan brats in the cooler to take with and go grill them up in the warm AZ sun.
