... i did manage to buy a jeep this past spring. a buddy who owns a repair shop called me about this '99 wj with a bad transmission for $800. i agreed to buy it sight-unseen, drove 2 hours into the mountains west of redding to pick it up and brought it home. the lady told me the trans was so bad that the jeep wouldnt even move under its own power. so you can imagine my surprise when i dropped a battery in it and drove it around the block. turns out the t-case was bad, not the trans, so i bought a t-case from a wrecking yard for $200 and i had myself a pretty decent WJ. anyways, i still do plan on buying a jk. i'm leaving for the chp academy in march, and hopefully will puchase one sometime after that. but for now i can still do some wheelin without pissing my wife off (she hates it when i wheel her nissan!!!). heres some pics:

sounds like a sweet tj, but i need something with 4 doors; loading my kids into the back of a tj sounds like a pain in the ass. thanks, though, and good luck with your sale.
