Ive been looking everywhere, and cant find on which models cruise control is standard on, or which package it comes with. I bought an X 2dr with the C option package (Adding A/C, full doors, couple other things) Did I get cruise control???? Im picking up my JK in Dallas and driving it out to Tampa Fl to break it in the very first thing I do. I hope to god/buddah/the proffet muhommad I got cruise control!

In my Jeeps, Cruise Control was sticking your foot between the gas and transmission hump so that it wedged in there. (^_^)

Cruise Control is standard on the new JK

(Opps, that is Standard on the Rubicon, not the X. You most likely ordered the 23C as you didn't mention an Auto Transmisson. If that is the case, NO you don't have cruise control (listed as Speed Control) You would have needed to order the 23S package to get the Cruise Control.)

Well looks like I'll be perfecting your tried and true method on my JK road trip. Thanks.

P.S. Who gets an auto?? :naw:

I do :p .
No more three peddling for me.
Not to mention there is no way I would plunk down my hard earned money on stick which I test drove first. Too finicky getting back in first.

I find cruise control on manuals somewhat amusing. (mind you our Jetta has it) I don't mind shifting back & forth the whole trip, but if I going the same speed for an hour don't expect me to maintain constant speed on my own.:) I still use mine, in neighborhoods to avoid speeding tickets. Interstate so I can pass the same guy about 10 times an hour as he speeds up & slows down.

Your JK looks awesome by the way. Hope you're enjoying it! Is it actually that much more of a comfy ride/quieter than the TJ's?

Well one probably needs a time machine to do a fair comparison, since time alone has an impact over factory condition. It is way quieter than the 97 TJ i test drove a few months ago. Also the suspension is much more civilized. It's quieter than my friends 2 year old rubi unlimited, which we both agreed was tretty darn quiet for a soft top. Even though his suspension felt much tamer than our old jeeps, I can say it still feels better. After driving mine last weekend he said he would replace his with the 4 door next year. It may be the stiffer frame. It really reminds me of driving our jetta. Except there is quite a bit more suspension to soak up the big bumps.

If a guy with a 05 Unlimited is looking to upgrade to a 4-door Unlimited, then DC got it right and i thinks we will see a lot of JK next summer...

anybody know anything about aftermarket cruise controls? easy to install yourself? Im guessing one off the Chrystler minivans with the 3.8 would work right??

I just ordered my 4 door Unlimited. Is Cruise (Speed Control) standard on Sahara with a stick?

Also curious how long people have had their JK's on order. I'm at 3 weeks now hoping for a call any day now...

adding a cruise to a drive by wire system should be easy, i know in the chevy trucks its all pre wired just take the colum apart and plug it in and install the new control arm
