I am looking into building an AEV Brute and wanted to ask if anyone here has built one. I want to get feed back from everyone as how they would build up a Brute.

Right now I am looking at a half door, color choices open (feel free to make suggestions), 4 inch lift 35 inch wheels. I am looking and adding a couple of other things such as Carr light bar, light force lights, Bestop power steps, but want to know what you all would do.

Over 8K for the kit and god knows how much for labor. This is what I did to my TJ.

About $1200 and I did the work.

How does your cage work? Since there is no rear how is it all trianglulated and all those other fancy words. ;)

Inside cage. The back part is worthless anyway, unless you put some cross bracing.

I have looked into building a brute before I even got the JKs. But the JK is such a nice platform I want to build one out of it over the older jeeps.
So I am holding out for a JK kit.

I agree with you I think the JK Brute would be a great thing , I am even considering getting the kit and doing the mods to make it work on a JK I like the idea of a 4dr brute maybe a BIG Brute

Nothing wrong with the yellow, but I like the blue.

What makes the yellow one different is that it doesn't have the highline conversion.

You can pay AEV to do it for you.

I love the brute. Once my parents get a new Wrangler I'm going to buy their TJ off them and build one.

oddly enough this thread came up. I emailed AEV today about a JK brute and they said it is not planned yet.

I have a friend who is talking about trying to build one without buying the kit from AEV. They look awesome, but I already have a truck!

anybody know the difficulty/time to do a buildup, or how much you'd have to pay a shop to complete the project? I sold my motorcycle and am thinking this could end up being my new toy/project in a year or two.

Keep checking the aev forum, and ebay. Make sure your pockets are dEEP.

edit: check ebay item 250327788184, not as expensive as the ones I've seen before, but I'd want it lifted and painted a different colour.

edit 2: 250317336874 is direct from AEV and they are asking $54,000

that's exactly why I'd rather go the kit route. I'm still curious what somebody would charge to assemble one (the right way). I did see AEV says 60 hours to complete.

That would be awesome, I've always been a fan of the Scrambler myself.

does anybody have more pics of the army green brute from Indiana that was at SEMA? That might be one of the nicest Brute's I've seen.

Not a brute, but also not 8K.

Scrambler top, modified roll cage.
