Undecided on whether I like the look of the original Jeep star on my JK. I didn't want to go with the full Willy set, just something small, but respectful of the original. What do you think?
Before:

After:
2869
2870
2871
Any opinions?

IMHO..I think you should keep the star and ditch the trail rated badge...too many conflicting circular objects. :D

Yep, I wish I could say the star on my Jeep was original, but I had seen mmccurdy's pic sometime back and liked it. Now I have to play catch up (lift, bigger tires, etc...). Your rig looks great:thumbsup: .

I like the star as well, but my personal preference would be to drop it a bit closer to the Wrangler sticker. This partially coincides with Toad's idea that the circular motif with the trail rated badge is a bit strong. With it lower, it would help balance out the visual association - just my opinion.
As far as the star not being respectful of the original Wil - a symbol can always be interpreted in many ways, what matters is how you view it yourself.

Was thinking about putting one on mine, but I have a black jeep and don't know if I would like it or not.... Thoughts?

I think it would look nice, just as long as you keep it away from the badge. Or even taking OFF the badge. If you went with silver, I think it would be a nice contrast. I would need to see your jeep though ;)

I'm condsidering adding the willys'esque decals to my silver JK (to give it a classic military aircraft look), with decals in black... But I do like it...

I have a Silver JK and I was thinking about getting the whole military decals? Star on the Hood, Star on the Doors, and the lettering on the side of the hood. Does anyone have these and like them? What do other JK owners think of the look? Thansk for the advice and opinions.

I like the star look. I have one as well but I need my rubi lifted, I am feeling left out of the club. I decided to keep it all black to match the rubi stickers. :yup: will look good once it is complete......... wait, its never complete.....oh the sickness:crazyeyes: http://www.jk-forum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=6984&stc=1&d=1205201589

Isn't a circular star a Texas Ranger symbol?
I like a bigger star, no circle.

the circle was a stele they used in WWII in europe and north africa. all allied forces had a star in WWII, but from the air the star was hard to tell apart from the nazi swastika, so they painted a circle arond all of the starts (but not the one on the bumper because there was not enofe room). some of the circles were very thick and some where thin. they shood be 3/4 the thickness of the star, but G.I.'s dont what to do math and just made them what ever size they wanted.
