Took a stone off the windshield the other day on the hwy...
Does anyone know whether the TJ and JK share the same stock windshield? I'm going to need a replacement. I don't imagine any aftermarket windshields are out there (yet) if the JK has different specs.
Thanks in advance.
Don't think so. The new one is curved while the old one is flat.

Sorry, man, but that sucks! getting hit that is. I'm sure the windshields are available soon. I'll bet you can order one and have it within a few days.
Too bad it wasn't a wayward rock on the Rubicon trail- it would make for a better story!!

Bummer man. How bad is the crack and where is it located? Maybe you can still have it fixed/stop the crack from growing. It's a lot cheaper than a replacment and as much as I hate to say it, you're bound to get more. It is after all - a Jeep.

Be glad you dont have an FJ Cruiser. Co-worker has one and the windshield is $1800(supposedly)

a windshield for my renny is around 300 and change in CDN. installed. Jeep windshields just don't have the angle required to deflect blows or wind adequately... we just have to live with it, or flip down the windshield an wear a pair of those WWI fighter pilot goggles/hat hahahaha

That's comedy!..You're right / It would have made for a better story.
I got a call today and it's in (so it did take a few days, thankfully). Hopefully it's for an '07.

Hopefully we don't have to start a "Who all Broke Your Windshield Thread " like they have over on the FJ Cruiser Forum. Some of those guys have multiple breaks. I'm hoping the slight curve will help just enough.

well i can't see it being any more curved than that of the libby... and that is a notorious issue with libbys. I think messing around with the angle too much would really take away from the distinctive jeep silhouette (sp?)...

Find a better windshield shop. Most of the better guys around here will just charge it to insurance and even waive the deductible. I've been using these kinds of shops for years. Of course, my dad is a insurance agent so he knows which shops will work that deal for you though. Ask your agent to hook you up with a good company so it doesn't cost you.
