I gave my 97 4 banger to my nephew when I bought the JK.
The TJ's tires are getting on in age, so rather than buy new ones for it, I was thinking this is the perfect time to upgrade the JK's shoes!.

Could someone offer advice on these issues?
1) Would the JK's LT255/75R17's fit on his rims? I think they are 15".
2) If not, would the JK wheels and tires fit the TJ? I'm guessing it would need a BB.
3) Would either of the first 2 options put too much strain on the axles? I'm not sure what they are, but I'm pretty sure they are stock. He does mostly daily driving, but goes offroad w/us occasionally.

I also realize it's only a 2.5L engine, but upgrading to a 4.0 is not in the picture.

Are you being serious???

If I were you I would buy wheel adapters www.spidertrax.com and run the JK's tire/wheel combo on the TJ, then buy yourself an aftermarket set of tires and wheels.........

I had forgotten about the lug pattern completely. I see Spidertrax will soon have adapters to make the wheels fit, but do you think there will be much rubbing?
Eyeballing it, it looks like they would fit, but I don't know how well they will fit when in use. Is there a rule of thumb about how much clearance I need when the Jeep is standing still?

You thought I was going to put the TJ stuff on the JK? :rotflmao1: I can see how it might have sounded like that.
No, I meant use his need for new rubber as an excuse to hand down my rubber and upgrade the JK's shoes.:D

They should fit ok with the proper adapters. Might rub the fender flares flexing offroad. Nothing a 1" body lift wouldn't fix.
