Alright, somebody needs to figure out how to stop the seatbelt chimes when its not buckled. I don't think i should have to buckle my seatbelt while driving in a parking lot or on the beach. Is there a fuse i could remove for this? Does it tie in with the airbag system? Anybody know where the "dinger" is for this thing and I would just remove that. That thing has been driving me up the wall!

Hey Eric this is what the manual shows to deactivate it
NOTE: The following steps must occur within the first
60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the ON
or START position. The manufacturer does not recommend
deactivating the Enhanced Warning System
(BeltAlert).
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, and
buckle the driver or front passenger seat belt.
2. Turn the ignition key to the ACCESSORY/RUN position
(engine does not need to be running), and wait for
the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn off.
3. Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle
and then re-buckle the driver or front passenger seat belt
at least three times within 10 seconds, ending with the
seat belt buckled.
4. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position. A single
chime will sound to signify that you have successfully
completed the programming.
The Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) can be reactivated
by repeating this procedure.

Ahhh but for those of us still waiting, it makes the time go by a little easier to just imagine that we are reading about a vehicle out in the drive way:yup:

Awesome, I didn't even think to look this up in the manual.
What other 'cheat codes' are there, I wonder?

If you're waiting because you have a specific set of options you want, I admire your patience-- I couldn't wait, and grabbed what I could (I DID have them ship it in from New Hampshire, though)
I've been reading my manual, but don't recall seeing this tidbit in it. I'll have to really dig into it and see what else I missed!
On another note, my local parts dept. ordered my satellite radio add-on today, CANNOT WAIT to get Sirius in the new JK! I've had Sirius in my XJ for 3 years now, and the saving grace on the commute to work today was that the radio wasn't played-- we were gushing over the new Jeep we were riding in!

You Hit the nail on the head.
I just found this site and I LOVE IT!
My Jeep probably won't be deliverd until 2008 after all I've read, but reading about those of you with one sure helps pass the time and lets me live vicariously through you.

If your dealership has the support staff that mine does, my 9mo old daughter has more mechanical expertise than they do. :naw:
