When you disarm, and when you turn off the vehicle, the headlights go on. There has to be a way to defeat this. Else, my new <1k mile dark green Rubicon goes on sale

While I don't know the answer to your question...

Help me understand how someone spends close to thirty thousand dollars on a vehicle and is then willing to sell it (probably taking a big depreciation hit) because the headlights come on when you use the remote key-less entry to unlock the vehicle???

You could not use the remote key-less entry and just use the door locks. Then the lights wouldn't come on... And mine do not turn on when I turn off the vehicle. If you have the headlights on and you turn off the ignition before turning off the headlights, they will then stay on for 30 seconds...

Just wondering. :naw:

I don't think he meant he was going to sell it, I nearly assure you.

That does not defeat the headlights. This sequence defeats the parking lamps from flashing (once for locked, twice for unlocked) while the headlights continue to illuminate. Insofar as not using the remote entry, that is not a bad idea save for the fact that the headlights still come on when the ignition is turned from on to off.

Sure enough...you are right...I did it in the daylight earlier today and thought the lights stayed off...I was wrong...sorry...

That would be a liability if you use your Jeep for survailence work. Cop, private eye, etc.

My headlights DO NOT come on when the ignition is turned from on to off. Maybe the dealer can fix it four you...

Do they come on when you disarm the vehicle?

Yes, if I use the key-less entry remote, the headlights do come on.

And with the ignition on and the headlights on, turning the ignition off first and then turning the headlights off, the headlights will stay on for 15 or 30 seconds.

But with the ignition on and the headlights on, turning the headlights off first and then turning the ignition off, the headlights do not turn back on.

Thanks - I am going to talk with the dealer... there must be a way of changing that in the 'puter.

Cheap plastic on interior. check
Plastic window on soft top. No Prob.
Spartan interior finish everywhere except dash. Fine by me.
Lights turn on when I unlock my car. Deal breaker. :rotflmao1:

Mine only come on if I hit the unlock button twice...

Dealer went through the scan tool options or whatever... said that lights could not be made not to go on. Now, I'd like to know how the keyless entry/alarm is wired into the vehicle so I can mess with it/remove it.

If you turn the headlights off before you shut off you engine, they don't come on when you arm the alarm/lock doors with key...

if you turn them off after you shut off engine, they do stay on...
