So've been thinking, I really like the Full Traction Long Arm Tri-Link setup I now have on TJ and by the looks of this shot that JP Magazine took...

I gotta wonder how the aftermarket industry is gonna deal with the new gas tank location and all the other crap that's underneath the rear half of the JK. Or, maybe nobody will want a long arm kit on their Jeep. After all, who needs to go bigger than 35's? :o

If you look at the long arm kit of Nth Degree Mobility, the 3rd link (no more upper arms) is the stinger and is in line with the driveshatf so if we are lucky enought, aftermarket will go this way and offer long arm kit with a setup like that. The biggest problem I see is the exhaust that is where the track bar want to go so maybe bumpstop will be require to protect it. I wish they do so because I want to go 37.

I agree - I'm thinking I'll be starting off the way I did with my TJ, a budget boost and hopefully a 1" body lift if anyone out listening can develop one :D I figure, that might get me enough room to run 35's right off the bat and for pretty damn cheap too. Then, when I can afford to regear, move up to a 3"-4" lift and go 37's. :yup: I love the Full Traction long arm kit I have on my TJ and if one is available by then, I'll most likely get one someday too

It will be interesting as to how they engineer a long arm system for the JK. The gas tank will pose the biggest problem but it can be done. I think a body lift will be required to move the tank up to be almost even with the frame rails.
Yeah, getting a long arm system engineered will be enough of a problem as it is but I'm wondering if anyone is gonna be able to design a real tri-link in the rear (one that gets rid of the rear track bar). What to do - what to do? :)

Who needs a gas tank anyways. You are focusing on all the wrong details.

Did you see all that thing that hang down under the frame rail, it look like everything needs to be lift (pipe tube, transfert case, gas tank and even that very low motor oil pan that seems to be the same height as the front diif tube!!!!) or higher lift with big skid plate all along underneat!!??

Teraflex is working on a rear tri link that will include a replacement rear mounted gas tank. It is only in the engineering phase right now.

I'm curious as to what they'll do? Maybe they'll need to use a skid that drops a few inches? Maybe some exh mods too.
