Pics of my solo:nono: trip (11/29) from Lake Pleasant to Prescott are on http://my.project-jk.com/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=812
via hwy 74 Castle Hot Springs rd nrth, Walkers Gulch turn off east, to another (as of yet unidentified) rd north through 2 gates(first one Champe ranch entrance, sencond Prescott NF entrance[land between gates is Champie ranch property, stay on main trail]) to fr 362 trn rt/nrth to senator hwy lft to prescott.
It's about 80 miles from 74 to Gurley st in Prescott and takes about 7 hours to drive not counting stops.
I know it's not wise to go alone but when I get an itch, I scratch it!
I do pack in 5-10 gal of water depending on what time of year and enough emergency rations for a week along with "roughing it" camp gear, 5 extra gal of gas as well as arms, ammo and a garmin rino120 gps/radio(the twin of wich is at my house should anyone need to use it to come find me).
Oh, and I let at least one person know what I'm doing, where i'm starting it and where I plan to finish.
My stock 2dr Rubi handled this with ease. Walkers Gulch requires your attention to your line when negotiating the dry rocky wash bed crossings. Rocky sections are short. Nothing you cant handle without getting out as long as you know your jeep and what it can do.
If you think I'm crazy for doing this alone in the day time. I did this trail 2 days before going south as a spur of the moment decision to take the "scenic" route to grandma's house in Glendale from prescott. It got dark from senator hwy/fr 362 (Crown King area) all the way to Lake Pleasant. Creepy, but a hell of an adrenaline ride considering it was virgin trail to me and I wasnt exactly sure where these trails went.
btw pee breaks at night while alone are a little scary...one hand on my gun, the other on my pistol:rotflmao1:
MERRY CHRISTMAS every one!!!!!!!!!
