I had 33x12.5x15 on a cherokee with 6" lift and no trimming, coud have fit 35"s. The tire you listed is about a 32x10x17. A 225/70/17 (29.5x10x17) would be my guess at most, but that's still pushing it. Maybe a 225/75/17 (30x9x17) with alot of trimming if you plan on going offroading.

My buddy had 31"x 10.5" M/T's on his Cherokee, with 1/2" coil spacers(the cheap twist in kind from Autozone), and lifting shackles in the rear(1/2" lift approximately).

A 255/75R17 tire is approximately 32 inches in diameter and 10 inches wide at the sidewall. 31's on the Up Country suspension (my case, 1" lift) rub at the control arms and flares.
A 255/75/15 tire is approximately 30.5 inches in diameter (same width) and I suspect it also would have a rub issue somewhere.
You could do this 17" tire with a 2" budget boost and probably still have to correct for control arm rub. No off-roading though. You'd be better off going with a 4" lift. They haven't come out with many tires suitable for off-road use in this rim size. Why would you do this anyway? The Cherokee would ride rough as a cob with them.
Sell the tires (IMHO Wranglers(Goodyear not Jeep) are junk anyway)you have left over from your JK for a couple hundred and use it toward a set of 30/9.50/15 Yoko ATS for the XJ. These will fit without mods and ride/look better than stock.
