Has anyone done this to their JK? If so, are you glad you did? I have a 6 speed X with the 4.10 and am thinking this would be a good way to improve my JK while obtaining locking hubs for the front. I don't plan on running tires larger than 33's, and I wheel in just about everything except boulders and rock ledge, so other than the locking hub benefit, would this upgrade be expensive overkill?

If you haven't found it yet, Piginajeep did it. here is another thread he started as well: http://www.jk-forum.com/showthread.php?t=18402&highlight=vacuum+disconnect

here's the thread with a little more info.

Is it overkill? IMO no, the stock unit bearing can leave you stranded on the trail. The Hub kit won't.

You can use it on you D30 and on the 44 as well. My 44 shafts finally came in, So I'll be swapping it onto the 44 this week.

Here's the installation

To get the full scoop, call Solid and speak with John or Matt, they'll be able to answer any questions you might have

Piginajeep,
What route did you go for d44 axles?

Its a Mopar front 44. I just had to buy Inner axles to make the Hub kit work with the D44

the Solid stub shafts are 760 U-joints
