Hey everyone....

I bought my first Wrangler (2nd Jeep) a few weeks ago. We took off the hard top on Friday and, as I suspected, had a VERY difficult time getting the soft top into place. In fact, I had to drive to the dealership to have them help me install it. Here is my question..... I have left the soft top up and had it bake in the sun the last few days. If I take it down today, how difficult will it be to put it up again? Will it be stretched out enough where I can put it up on my own? What was your experience with the 1st vs the 2nd time putting up the soft top?

Thanks!

Pat

I think ours got significantly easier to take on and off after it was on the jeep a few weeks. Just make sure its still sunny and warm when you go to put it back on and you should be ok.

So, in your opinion, should I just leave the top up for another week? It is sunny and 80 today and I am DYING to take it down, however if it will stretch solely by leaving it on, that's what I will do. What do you think?

a Day in the heat should do the trick

Sunny and 80, Id take it off. As Piginajeep said, a day in the heat stretches it alot. You should be fine.

I have a feeling your having trouble w/the back corners. Have someone pull down on top of the corner wile you fasten it on. I had to do that the first 6 or 7 times till it stretched out.
