... from the taxidermist today  I still couldn't convince my wife to let me hang it downstairs, but it is in the office where I can see it every morning when I head down stairs and when I am on the computer surfing JK-Forum.

Thanks for all the compliments; I am really happy with how it turned out.
So we want details! What'd ya' take him with and how long to drag him out!!!!!!
I took him with one shot behind the right shoulder with my .308 Model 99 Savage at about 40 yards. The drag wasn't that bad, it was downhill drag a couple hundred yards to an old abandoned railroad bed. I was still 1.5 miles in from the road on that but I walked out and back to get the deer cart and wheeled him out from there.

I think he is pissed because he is stuck up in the office instead over the fire place in the family room, evidently he does't fit in with "our decorating".

LOL! Spoken by the either UNmarried or divorced:bleh: Now While it CAN BE DONE....the married men will all agree on the "whether it SHOULD be done" and I'd bet it'd be a resounding-- Not if you want peace or a piece in the house ever again!!!!!!!!!!:rotflmao2:

I would have liked a full mount too, but I don't really have a place to put it. That is what you meant, right??? :D

Nice deer,, looks great mounted.. but how did he taste?? What county did you take Him in?? I'm up in Carbon county.. and even tho its still early,, I think the hunting should be good this year.. Archery just started, or seems to have,, time flies etc.. but the amount that are getting hit by cars up here is out of hand.. They say in the west end of the Poconos there are more 100 times the amount of deer per acre than the land would of sustained naturally,, mainly due to the influx(or infux,, depending if you like city folk) of city people moving in and feeding these"pets".. What they forget is to feed them in the winter,, so they are out searching for food and starving.. As I type this there are 6 in my yard.. but no hunting in the developments..
When does the rut start in Pa?? seems like there is a lot of deer activity already.. 5 got hit in the last 12 hrs in the 5 mile strech of road between my house and the gym.. Last night they were picking up the carcasses,, I think alpo is buying them up..

He tastes pretty good, just had some sausage the other morning. I took him on State Game Lands near the Schuylkill/Lebanon County line, not to far from Rausch Creek. Hopefully it will another good season, although with me taking this one and my dad taking a 180 lbs 8-point in New York a couple of weeks earlier it will be hard to top last year.

Nice buck. I'm waiting for my son to get back into town this afternoon from hunting in Wyoming. Called the other night and he had gotten a 24" mulie with a big drop tine and a fair sized antelope. Sure wish I could have gone but I still haven't gotten over my back surgery in March. But come hell or high water I plan on making it next year.
