WOL... the whole "legal" is whats hanging you up... i believe that Cali permits "assault" style weapons, it just has to be capped at 10 round max capacity. There is an AR-15 in production with a fixed 10 round magazine. Kinda of a pain, but you have to pop the rear take down pin, move the upper forward and load from the reciever...

you can pick up the single stack wasr Ak47's which are 10 round max... however, the magwell can be filed down and the feed ramps shaped to accept double stack hi-caps.

there are always loopholes... but for the most part, cali is screwed on firearms

Well yes and no: you can go with a 10 cap...OR if you had preban mags you can go gripless> As I mentioned to way of life-- anyone wanting to know more really needsto check out Calgun's FAQ.... there is a light at the end of the tunnel for CA gun owners-- just takes a bit to get there.....

I just bought the Kel Tec SU-16C assault rifle with the folding stock. I'll have to take a couple pics at home and post them up. Sweet little camp gun, takes all AR15 mags and gladly eats any kind of 5.56 ammo you can find without jamming.

oh, it's nothing special. it's a DPMS lower, DPMS stock, DPMS LPK. the upper assembly is from a Garrison Mfg kit . i'm pretty impressed with Garrison and they had it shipped to me in a few days. their kits come with everything except the lower.

as far as assembling your own upper....seems like it's alot more work and requires special tools. probably don't save yourself any money by assembling it

I'm a member of the Army Reserve up here in the north. I teach a unit of our Army Cadet program, sorta like young Marines.

Here are some old pics of a range shoot we did. If you can shoot in -15C, you can shoot just about anytime!

Canadian C7A1 rifles:

Safety checks (I'm on far right):

Shooting (not great, noone around to take photo while on range):

anybody have a microtec?
http://www.athomepc.net/test/stg556-2.jpg

No, I have the Styer made AUG.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3169/2681611648_bd1556f1d9.jpg

But, the little I have heard, they are fairly good copys of the AUG. I like the original scopes, and I could do without the forward assist. And what is that plastic fish hook looking thing just above the screw over the mag release?

-15C would have been nice when I did my winter warfare training back in 1996 with the old Communications Regiment.

Why on Earth are your cadets pointing their rifle at two people? I don't care if they're unloaded; it's an unsafe practice.

I am not really into assault rifles but if I had the extra money I think I would buy this rifle just for the fun of it. Take a look at the videos pretty damn accurate. This rifle is up for auction.
This web site is a pretty good web site if you are into accurate rfles.

I suppose I could have formulated my question that way too. Either way, there's something severely wrong with what they're doing (instructors and cadets). When I was in the Forces, and to this day when I hit the civi ranges, you simply don't see this sort of thing. Basic firearm safety. Common sense. C'mon man!
