I am curious about how ya'll are storing your hand gun in your JK if you decide not to carry.

I work in a hospital, and as I understand it, NOBODY except LE agents are allowed to carry inside the buildings. There are posting to this effect on ALL the doors entering the hospital.

I have the Tuffy console, but it tends to get filled up with junk. So I'm considering an additional vault of some sort to keep my carry in as needed. When I get a sport cage installed, there is a center piece going from the sound bar/cage to the front bar by the front window, and some will hang a CB from it. But that's where I'm thinking about putting the vault (it has a keyed entry as well as a finger sequence code. Will have to wire it into the JK's electrical somehow).

Does anyone have this mod already?

Can you show me what you do have at this point?

Thanks.

Well.. I would recommend this... You can bolt it down under one of the front seats..

If I have to go to the hospital, I usually just lock mine up in the glove box or center console.. But now you have me getting paranoid now..

That's what I have at home and had in mind for the JK.

It has battery back-up, but will have to figure out the wiring for the Jeep.

Thanks

Curious as to why you need to wire it in. The Gun Vault site indicates these power from 8 AA batteries. I like the idea of this under the seat though.

Wiring it in is like how you can have it at the house.

And I don't have to worry about the batteries dying at an inopportune time.

In reality, if it's gonna be a huge hassle, wiring won't happen. But I would like it to be set up right if possible.

I have a CENTER OF MASS box and associated cable connecting it to the rear mounting rail of the passenger seat. The cable is long enough to go into the center console. The box can be locked, the console gets locked (not really a great lock) but out of sight.

Anyway, it isn't instantly accessible but for the price it is a level of security I an comfortable with. I have only been a few places where I needed to lock it up.
