Recently, my Jeep JK was keyed really bad while shopping at a supermarket called E-Mart in Seoul, South Korea. I took my Jeep to a highly recommended shop to have the door (keyed) and the same side fender repaired. I questioned painting the center piece plastic (that I have seen online) and they said sure. When I went to pick up my JK the owner of the shop met me. He said that would not have looked good so they painted other pieces. I was scared to look in my Jeep to what they might have painted. I opened the door and saw the side pieces to the center console painted. Really looks great and like Chrysler should have painted them in the first place. The owner said that it was very difficult to do and that the service was free. Take a look and tell me what you think.

That does look good. Do you know what kind of paint was used?

Looks much better than most of the other painted interior/parts I've seen pics of. And I sympathize with his "it wasn't easy" comment. The JK consoles are a lot harder to disassemble than most I've done before.

If that happened in the states they would of tried to charge you for it.....just kidding. It does look good though.
Looks really good! I may consider that for my Jeep!

I believe the paint used was Chrysler paint. That is what this company is known for. Dealers of high end vehicles take their client's cars there. They sanded, primed, then painted. The paint is soft at the moment but they assured me that it would harden. Now, I have to wax more of my JK...lol

Do not know if it will fade but it is the same paint as the outside. I guess I will find out over time.
Thanks

Both of those options look fantastic. Sometimes I wish my jeep was a color, instead of black.

Davidengbe, that is what I wanted them to do but in Korea, they sometimes go the other way. It was scary to have the owner meet me and tell me they decided to change what I wanted. But it turned out pretty good. Yours looks great. I am thinking about finishing out the rest of the center console trim. Just a thought.

I would love to have that done as well!
I bought some plastic covers which in the catalogue looked similar to the painted parts... but I removed them because they where crap.

Obviously you guys never go off road with your doors off etc. Why bother trying to make your ride look like a Mall Crawler? :rotflmao2::rotflmao2::ya::clap:And take that new car smell thing out from under your seat.

I like the first one from the OP. Looks great for that color but the rescue green might be too much for either option.

True. In Belgium it is illegal to take the doors off :-(
How did you manage to get the Jeep logo off the front?

Just run some fishing line down behind the logo to cut through the 2 sided adhesive pads and then clean with alcohol.
