Got me interested... So I figured what the hell, lets give it a try. I found 3 caches yesterday! It's a lot of fun and now I finally have another use for my hubby's GPS. We'll be fighting over it come hunting season :evil_laughterpurple

You can always buy the higher end version for yourself.;) Geocaching is great fun and at times will also give your Jeep a reason to wheel. We've been at it for about three years now.

I was just telling him that I wanted a colored screen version, LOL.

Yeh, I use an Etrex Legend. I kind of wish it would up and die so I could upgrade to color screen, they are so much easier to read.

Mine (his, lol) is a Lowrance Ifinder. It's not bad, but I'm still getting used to it.

how do you find these caches? I've been to italy, looked for 4 locations and 3 other geocaches back home, and I couldn't find a single one. I must be doing it wrong

my gps gets me within a few feet, then I start looking at the terrain to see where it may have been disturbed or if something just doesn't look quite right. Usually in the woods, they're in/under fallen trees or in bushes. in urban areas, they're tucked into cracks or holes in walls or pavement. They can be as small as a chapstick tube or a 35 mm film canister (micros) or as large as a storage container. They're usually hidden very well and camouflaged with paint or tape to help keep people from stealing them. Sometimes the people doing the hiding will leave hints to help, too. If you're on www.geocaching.com decypher the hints for help.
