View Full Version : Rear door help! (Please someone help save me a trip to the dealer)

My rear windows are not rolling down using the rear window switches. Yet they roll down using the front switches. Yes I've tried the child safety lock. It does not work in either position. On top of that I just noticed when you pull the door latches in the back seats it does not open you have to push the lock first as if the child lock is on.

what gives? any ideas?

Make sure they are fully plugged in, or try unplugging and re-plugging them in.
It could be the switch under the radio went bad, and is stuck in the "rear window switches disabled" position.
Also, did anything get wet while the doors were off?

The child lock is only for the door latch and has nothing to do with the windows. I am betting that the switch on the front dash is in the locked position and is not allowing you to drop the glass with the back switches.

Flip the middle switch and they will work.

ok I'm a jack @$$. I never even noticed that lock switch (lol) and I've been driving it around for a year. Thanks guys!

As for the rear door latches do they not work like the front? When I open my drivers door if its locked it just unlocks the door for me. On the rear doors I have to unlock the door first then pull the door latch. Is that right?

Yes that is correct. Rear door have to be unlocked first to open from the inside. Both my kids like to lock it back after I unlock it to open it and get them out.

Check out this thread to unlock all doors when you open your door. I think its the one where you unlock all doors with one button push. I could be wrong, but it has some mods like that you could try.
