I had to find a new DZ since I moved. I did find one about 30 minutes away and it is nice and small. I was going to jump on Sunday and they were closed. Grrr. Closed on Sundays? That should be illegal. :what?:

Both of us miss skydiving, but we were 2 hours from a DZ. Last year we moved to the mountains and I can be standing on top of a 3600 foot mountain in 30min from my door! I can see it from my backyard too.

Is it normal for skydivers to jump without reserves? I've jumped static-line in the Army, but never skydived.

Its illegal in the States and Canada to jump without a reserve. And freaky. I jumped out of a paraglider in the summer with a base rig. It was freaky knowing I only had one.

Go try a civilian jump, you will love it!!

You guys are crazy. Anyone heard of the Point of the Mountain in Utah? Apparently it's pretty well known for the air currents to keep you up there hangliding or paragliding for ever! I live on that mountain.

Never heard of that spot, but I live at the bottom of Mount 7 here in British Columbia. From what other pilots tell me its one of the top 5 places in the world to fly. I have 60 solos off Mount 7 and it just gets better everytime!!
