Gettysburg Express Railroad

Seem to be on an old scenic train hunt excursion. Went on another one this weekend. This one is, of course, outside of Gettysburg, pa. It’s not an old fashion steam engine, but they do still use old diesels from the "streamline" era. It’s a nice hour long trip out into the county. If you ever get to go on this, take one of the 7 o'clock ghost trains. It’s rather interesting to ride through the Gettysburg battle field during the night.

Could anyone imagine riding across the country, back in the day, in those seats?

I'm about to go on this one trip that'll sort of give that experiance. its 3 hours 1 way and we'll be passing through 3 or 4 towns before getting to our destination. should be a fun trip.

i've heard about some trip out west that goes for several days across 3 states. it's only done once every few years or something. need to find more info about that one.
