Is it harmful to your truck trying to pull people out is it puttin alot of strain on the engine feel like ill burnt out my 4wheel tryin to yank some people out

it can be harmfull to your rig, but with some finess and not just trying to jerk someone out of a hole it can be done with no problems to either party,
be carefull out there

sorry to hijack thread..... how does a snatch strap work differently than just hooking up and pulling?

Well a snatch strap is basically a stretchy tow strap. It stretches out an additional 25% of the original length. When you start the pull, have a little slack in the strap and after it stretches out, it will then contract to the original length. This will have a jerking effect on the stuck vehicle without jerking your vehicle. By the way, this applies to vehicles stuck in mud or sand. You don't want to jerk a vehicle stuck on a rock.

With large air downed tires, a lot of traction and leverage has to be transferred somewhere. I would say the better you jeep is offload, the more likely you are to break something recovering somebody. Makes sense, but you wouldn't naturally think it.
