seems a little pricey imo. i've been fantasy shopping airstreams and teardrop type trailers, and that much money could get alot more other places.

It's the build and capability of the trailer that causes the price.
I want/need something that I can thrash around. Go to the Yukon in. Not worry about...

Here's a quote from one of the fellows that owns Adventure Trailers (even more expensive):
It's gets back to that question "What is an off road trailer?".

If you put larger tires on a trailer for ground clearance, or spring it over does that make it an off-road trailer?

Rock crawling tests the ground clearance and protection of a off-road trailer, but wash board stresses the integrity of the whole unit, chassis, suspension, body.

The construction and fasteners used are also critical for the longevity of an off-road trailer, it would be pointless to have ground clearance, load capacity, comfort, and amenities if the trailer started to fall apart.

We use a few different terms when identifying trailers;

Modified: lifted, larger tires, or both, no change to suspension, body, or chassis.

Ruggedized: Lifted, larger tires, protection, no modification to suspension or slight modification, or incorrect application of suspension. No change to body construction. Slight modification to chassis if any.

Off-Road: Lifted, protected, strong chassis, applicable suspension, use of applicable fasteners, resistance to vibration and stress.

As someone said you can put lipstick on a pig..........

Those of you who like to go far and explore will understand.
I'm not a "rock crawler" --- more of a world traveler type. I wonder how long it would take me to drag this thing to Chile; I've never seen Machu Picchu...

That's a cool concept but I can see it being a problem with high winds.

Sprayed it down with a garden hose this morning to season the canvas a bit and check it all out.
Winds won't bother it --- the JK can't achieve speeds high enough for that... :sad2:

The wife is cleaning every nook and cranny; the trailer has been sitting in storage for 3 years.

I meant winds when the tent is up. I'm sure driving it is fine. I pulled a little U-haul trailer with my 2-dr. Just not sure about the tent in high wind situations.

That video of Off-road Camping in Angola was well done. The hand built bridge crossing was scary to watch. Not my cup of tea, but good stuff.

We'll see....

Thats awesome! Wish i had one! You'll never get a better deal on one than now; Dean would like to be rid of them.
This is the least expensive trailer of its kind that you can get right now...

And I did a little walk around video yesterday:
