1. Take box and open up on floor.
2. Take original intake tube removed from jeep and place in box.
3. Take Top Half of original intake box and set in middle of box.
4. Take Bottom Half of original intake box and set in end of box.
5. Take original air filter and place vertical in side of top half.
WARNING WARNING--Do not attempt to place original intake into box with both halves attatched to one another as "Box Crumpling" may occur.--WARNING WARNING
6. Close AEM Box reversing the opening steps when you received box.
7. Place clear 3M HD Box Tape on box to preven any parts leakage.
8. Place real high on the shelf in the back of the shop so that you will forget where you placed it.
Oh, installation time on the AEM was exactly 30 minutes. Hardest part was the temp sensor. Install temp sensor into AEM Tube before installing tube. Because the first attempt into getting the sensor in you will push the rubber grommett into the tube.

The dealer's do not stock the required tools necessary for "box opening". He// they don't stock anything. You will have to search high and low to find the correct tooling required.

Do you have a link to where you bought the tape? I can't find tape in that particular spec.

I need more information on closing the box. I don't know how to follow the reverse of opening, as I wasn't the one to open the box. Please explain in overly simplified detail. Thanks!
Also, which end of the box do I set the bottom half?

Uh, Uh, Uh, Sorry, I forgot the exact box closing procedure:thinking: Man, I knew I should have wrote down more steps.
The bottom half placement depends on the orientation of your AEM Brute Force box. If your box is orientated to true North then it will be the left side. If your box has a different orientation, then you will need to get a compass or gps to determine degrees from true North then place the bottom half accordinally. Now, if you are south of the equator, then you are absolutly out of luck as you have the reverse orientation.

I called the dealer and they can open the box for $49.99, is that a good deal?

No Smack, The dealer misinformed you. As they always do. $49.99 is to have your box flashed with the latest opening software. It is not necessary to have your box flashed at this point. Unless, the box shuts down for a split second then restarts you shouldn't have to have it flashed. besides if you take it to the dealer, they will have your box for at least 3 days, and the TSB does not allow for a loaner box.
