I need a good camera to take pictures offroad.

I'm looking to spend $200-$300

It doesnt have to be a brand new model, Something older that takes great pictures is OK too...

do you care how big it is? in other words, are you looking for a pocket camera or something a little bigger?

My Kodal P850 is pretty decent. It has a good zoom lens and is pretty easy to use. Has a large screen in back to view pics but there may be newer models out now. Might want to check into those.

Nope. Size really doesnt matter.

I was using a friends, looks like this. I really like having control of the zoom, rather than my crappy one at work. (Oympus style)

Unless there is a local sale or something, I found the best prices at Amazon.com, for cameras.

We have purchased a number of digital cameras for our family members from a place called buydig.com . Great prices and fast service. I have no interest in this site, I just have found it to have the best prices and a good selection of cameras. We shoot a Pentax Optio Z10, pocket size, 8 MP, 10x zoom, did I mention it fits in a shirt pocket? We also shoot a Canon Digital Rebel xT which I love if I don't have to carry it all day long. The Pentax gets a lot of use because of it's small size, great for fishing trips etc., it fits in a ziplock sandwich bag for water protection and into a pocket for carry.

If you look at my gallery, every one of those was shot with the little Pentax Z10.

I have 4 cameras - all Canon. I love my Digital Rebel XT, but it costs more than the range you're looking for. I also have an SD1000, and I'll tell you what - it takes damn good pics offroad and is super small. It's also very affordable, less than 200. You might check into it.

I'm also looking for a camera, size really dosen't matter and I'm looking in the same price range.

I like a lot of the pics that are posted on Project-Jk.com, who takes these pictures and what camera are they using???

Example..........

i have one and i LOVE it. Takes really good pictures, its waterproof to 33 feet (iv tested it you can dive with it or take watercrossing vids with no worries!) you can drop if onto the rocks and say "oops" instead of "F**** **** **** ***** ****** *** * * ***"

you can find them on ebay for good prices or look around online
