Looking at different ways of carrying bikes, if you have a bike rack on your ride, please post a picture. Thanks.

Here is my Thule 964 revolver. It's a really nice rack if you're comfortable spending $400+ for one. Purchased it back in May when REI.com had a sale on it. Paid something like $350 for it which was the lowest on any site out there. I think it's up there for $450 now. Guess I got lucky. Anyway.

It is nice because it swings away so you can get to the tailgate. Even while bikes are still mounted.
It holds up to 4 bikes. Haven't tried that though. Have had two at once so far.
It comes with a lock for the Hitch mount, and has a built in cable lock for the bikes.

There are only 3 downfalls I can think of. First, It is REALLY heavy. It's a bitch carrying that thing around. :veryhot:
Also, as you can see from one of the pictures, it BARELY clears the spare Rubicon tire. So if you have bigger tires, your out of luck.
Finally, the price. At $400+, it is really expensive IMO. But I guess you get what you pay for.: 2cents :
I would strongly recommend it to anyone.
Hope this helps.

That's pretty slick how it folds out of the way of the rear door.:yup:
I've been thinking about building one as a project for myself
and this fold out option never even occured to me. :naw:

Although, the front bumper I have on my ride also has a reciever, so I have that mounting option as well.

I just bought the Thule "Spare Me" rack (spre tire mount) at a garage sale ($20) and so far, it's awesome. People on the site have said that similar ski racks are "risky", but I don't see why. This thing seems rock solid.

LoL yeah, you could also say that they weigh just as much!

Nah, all jokes aside, if I ever had to buy another one again it would definately be another Thule. The build is really solid.

Only drawbacks are price(you get what you pay for) and weight. It sucks when you have to put it on. It weighs 60lbs I believe. But it can carry 4 bikes or 140lbs equiv.

You can hitch extensions, although, I don't recommend it.

I'll second the "don't recommend" on the hitch extender. I tried using one with my Yakima rack, and just by looking at it I knew it was a disaster in waiting.

Haven't taken the bikes with us anywhere yet, until I can pony up for a different rack :(

I've been using a rack with an extender and haven't had any problems whatsoever. The rack is a Graber Outback rack that I got back when I had my TJ. It does wiggle around a bit more back there but I just run a strap around the rack and spare tire to firm things up. I've hauled 3 bikes all over the GA and NC mountains and on 600 mile trips without problems.

I'm a big fan of stashing bikes inside the Jeep for transits. Its a squeeze in the 2dr but with the rear seat folded, both wheels removed, I can just get two in with a bit of room around for helmets/ camelbax/ shoes etc. If I'm going with my kids and their bikes, I just use the trailer.
