Okay, this rumor isn't specifically about the new Jeep JK Wrangler but it is regarding a piece of equipment that we all could use.... What if I told you there's a product out there coming our way that could get you out of a sticky situation and give you a bit of fresh air all at the same time? Anybody care to take a guess at what I'm talking about? :D

Hey, now that's a good answer but unfortunately, not the one I have in mind and not exactly something that your new JK can use :D

I had something like this in mind (http://brsparachutes.com/default.aspx)...

picture this: cruising along the cliff edge, a big bull moose comes along and broadsides you right off the edge...:P

Maybe they will fit between the frame rails ala the pure jeep stubby bumper ad.

UGH. Way too much plastic. Gimmie a simple all metal winch any day.

At first, the idea is good if a bit pricey but you don't have to find place underhood for a compressor. Looks like 5cfm@90psi is pretty good and the performance of the winch is about the same as xd9000 + some nice touch of the 9.5ti. I'm not sure I will put 1400$ on this but consediring that a compressor that powerful isn't cheap (at least 500$), maybe it worth it + you don't have to crash your head for place and wiring.

Airflow might not be bad with PureJeep or Kilby bumper since it looks like winch sits between the frame rails instead of on top of them like on YJ's, TJ's & LJ's

Its a chunk of change but not out of line if you price a high end winch plus kilby type OBA

Or the Expedition One front bumper which integrates it inside the bumper between the mounts... IF it ever gets into production. I personally can't wait to a pic of a real one, not a CAD drawing.

I saw one yesterday over at Off Road Evolution and let me just say this thing is HUGE!! But, the new JK's have e-fans and there's still enough room to allow air to get sucked in. I'm sure time will tell for sure but if I had to guess, I think this thing won't do too much from keeping air flowing in.

BINGO - We have a winner! :D

To bad they cost so much

I just received mine. :D Now if I only had a something to put it on.
I paid $1190.00, no tax, no shipping. See most for $1450.00, plus shipping and sometimes tax.
My logic: When you figure out that you will pay aroung $300.00 for a air compressor and more for the winch it makes it more attractive.

Keep us inform on how well it perform. I'm very interrested to buy one. As for air flow as many states, it was suppose to have some type of grill to let air pass trought and with all new bumper that let us install the winch low between the frame rail, it shouldn't be an issue.

Or, you can always get a new bumper with a recessed winch plate that has been specifically designed to fit one like this...

Now you can have your winch and have a radiator that breaths too :D

I agree completely. I really like that PJ bumper, when I have a Jeep to mount it on, that is what I'm ordering.
