View Full Version : Video Editing...speed up playback?

Hey guys im on a Mac.
Does anyone know how to speed up the playback of an AVI clip?
i am trying to get my URE videos together but i really want to speed up the videos as theya re mostly of just riding and they look really cool at 2x speed.
And i have imovie 08 so i cant do it in there, and it wont let me download imovie 06...
i need a separate progrem

i think a lot people looked over this because you said you were on a mac... and when it comes to mac, its final cut pro...

but if you don't have that and/or don't have the cash to shell out for it... then you need something open source. and sadly thanks to mac's self rightous BS, its hard to find stuff...


but, there are some very good programs out there, and for video editing, sounds like you need to check out Avidemux which is kind'a like VirtualDub for pcs but it also comes compiled to work on a mac.

but i don't know for sure if that'll do what you need, but it's a start. i'll see if i can find anything else...

^^^what he said. Im a film editor who uses final cut. Apple really dropped the ball on iMovie, its really a joke. I would try what atomicmecha suggested, or just google "speeding up video clips on mac" in google. Sometimes when you ask basic questions like that in a search engine you find programs you normally wouldn't, some made specifically for what you want to do and then you can experiment with them
