a 12-volt deep fryer would be even better, you could make french fries while crawling the trails! Just watch out for bumps, wouldn't want hot grease to splash around in the cab...

You don't need one of them: Wrap it up in aluminum foil and throw it on the exhaust manifold! :D

I want to get a popcorn machine from BJ's and a power inverter, and pop popcorn while going down the freeway!

But only if you have the top down....:rotflmao1:

This is a total waste of money in the Jeep - just install a rack that angles your food against one of the dash vents, and throw a drip pan (or Husky liner) underneath... then throw the dash heat up to its highest setting: You'll have cooked food (and driver) in no time! :D

Reminds me of the days I use to warm up a cans of beans on the exhaust manifold of my old Ford truck...until a can blew up one day...truck smelled like burnt beans the rest of the time I owned it and I caught the new buyer sniffing and trying to figure it out when he test drove it.

Could just get a power inverter and a Foreman grill. I actually have a Foreman grill that I've never used. I guess I like greasy food.

I cook my beans in a campfire but always put a hole in the top to vent. I sometimes put cans of corn or beans in the fire without venting just to watch them blow up.
:naw: I know dangerous...

I remember hearing that the coating inside the can (some kind of varnish) breaks up as heat is applied and gets in your food... not too healthy

I actually tried to hook a crock pot up to a power inverter, it does not work well. Heating element require a lot of amps.

I'm pretty sure there's a Exhaust manifold cook book out there...
Found it... it's called Manifold Destiny (http://www.amazon.com/Manifold-Destiny-Guide-Cooking-Engine/dp/0375751408)

Google is great!

A biker buddy of mine used to have a metal wire-frame cup holder bolted between the heads of his old Harley. He'd pre-make a few hot dogs (or corn-dogs) and wrap them in tin foil then heat and eat while on road trips.
It takes all kinds I guess.

Tin foil is your friend.
Baked potatoe, stop in a half hour and rotate.
45 min to 1 hr. Or until the baked potatoe smells like its done.
Buritto's about 15 minutes from a cold start.
Corn of ear, rotate about 1/2 way through,
Cored apple, core filled with brown sugar and cinamin, dbl wrapped tightly.
Not good on dirt roads or off roading.
Let the mind roam free, there are many more options for cooking.
Doesn't it smell/taste like the engine? :dontknow2:

Doesn't it smell/taste like the engine? :dontknow2:LOL, no! Manifold cooking works out just fine. The key is to triple wrap in heavy duty aluminum foil. Honestly, its more to keep the food from spilling than fumes getting in. We'll go on a run and make some manifold meals when I get back in September. You'll be impressed. :D

Nope, not when it is in tin foil.
