:what?: I don't get it. Unless you feel uncomfortable POUNDING your new JK. If that's the case....... Give it to a good friend so he can POUND it for you!! Then I would be broken in, and you feel so bad.

I'm curious on the reasoning as well. I have a CJ5 as well as my JK.

The renegades definitely look classic on the road, and I'm sure you have a pretty solid bond with it. I guess you have to think about how much life is left in the '86, and how much you'd get for either. Honestly I'd need to see a picture of both to make a final decision  haha.

I guess that would have to be a "give & take" kinda thing for me. I say this because as far as I'm concerned, the CJ5 was the best looking of all of them. So for me it would be "take" the looks of a CJ5 over the "ride" of the JK. But I'd have to say, if I could find a tricked out, and totally......and I mean TOTALLY restored CJ5 I'd probably go for it.
As it is tho.....I don't have this problem cause I do have 72' CJ5 w/ 304V8. All I need to do is rebuild the tranny and it's ready for the mud. I say the "mud" because it sure as hell ain't a highway rig.

Not knowing your circumstances I say keep it. It seems I see former owners of older Jeeps that now have JK's and they wish they'd kept the old iron around to thrash on, restore or just to drive in good weather. If you can wait a year and then see what you want to do. Just a thought

I have an '86 Laredo. Absolutely love it. Currently I am building a '08 4 Door Rubicon for my sister. So far I have spent 20K on the Rubicon. Still have a few things left to do. I love the JK's very much but with my CJ being in such amazing shape I dont think I could ever sell it. I am on my 3rd Jeep. 2nd. CJ7. It is built very well for trail use and I know if I sell it there would be no going back to CJ's because I dont have the time to invest in another CJ like I did in this one. I wish they would have done the flat dash with big center speedo in the JK's for some retro look. With having a family with 2 kids the JK would be perfect. My CJ is probably worth 20K give or take and I know right now my wife would say, "You want a JK go get it, but the CJ has to go." I just cant do it. The CJ is semi-retired. My sister's JK will be done in about a week and it is gonna be very tough to give her the keys to that monster. Talk about bittersweet.
