About to pull the trigger and just do it.
My Unl. JK has 5.13's and 37's with the minivan 3.8 now. What gear ratio would be best if I went with the 5.7?! or the 6.1?!
Could the HEMI conv. specialist's here tell me their thoughts on the 5.7's power?! How much differ than the V6? Drastically different the 5.7 to the 6.1?
Just wanna make the right choice.

What tranny will you be using ? In my old YJ. I went from the 4 banger with 5.38's. I put in 4.56 with i swapped in an AMC 360 W/3spd auto. I was also running 39.5" IROKS

I had the 6.1 and 5 speed auto swapped in a few months ago. I went with 5.13's because I am going to go to 40's when I wear out my current 37's. If I were to stay with 37's I probably would have gone with 4.88's. I currently cruise at 70 mph at an RPM of 2300 with the 37's.
There is absolutely no comparison between the V-6 and either of the V-8's, power will not be a problem either way you go.

With a 37" tire the 4.88 is the recomended gear with any Hemi conversion.

It's not my daily driver,I usually drive it evenings and weekends, the wife drives it every now and then. I live just off Cleveland (indian hills). I am sure we'll cross paths soon.

It would be nice to see a JK that's lifted around here ;)

Who knew so many people from the speck on the earth called Enid were on here!?
Regarding places closer to OK - I think SLC is your best bet. I've heard nothing but good things from people on this board and others. Adam is known for being a true jeeper first and a business man second. I've never done business with them, but I guarantee when I get the cashola to go big or go home I'm going to dallas. All the shops in OKC have reputations for being less than friendly and less than stand up. I'd love for that to change though.

Been thinking about how to squeeze more torque out of the 3.8 v6
A hemi swap wold definitely give me more power...
My question is would I need to swap out my d30 front axle to something beefier if i were to shoehorn one of these bad boys in my X?

I can tell you from experience that choosing a company that will continue to communicate with you with some level enthusiasm after the hemi conversion is complete is very important!! It is not good to get short answers and tone of bother from a guy that you just spent 30k with. Kudos to Screamin Lizard Customs for being on the forum and showing enthusiasm while talking with the anyone that has a question. If I had to do it again I would consider going to Texas.

I can already guess where you went, but would you mind posting or PMing if you're not comfortable sharing with the board?

My answer would be yes, you need stronger axels gears etc.. I'm running RockJock 60s with 5.13 gears and feel comfortable with them.:yup:

SLC,
Have you guys done a 6.4 or do you guys exclusively use the 6.1?
In a discussion over on AEV's site about the "dead spot" for the 6.1s, they mentioned they were working on an A580 transmission upgrade for the 6.1s and 6.4s, do you have any word on when this might be a reality?
