Nice buck....but I gotta ask.....those little bumps on the ends of both the main beams, are you really able to call those points? I remember my dad telling me years ago, as far as mulies, or coastal blacktails go, that if you could hang a ring on it, then it's a point. I don't know if that's true or not nowadays. But up here in AK, a point cannot be wider than an one inch, one inch down from the tip.

Just curious.....

Ok....thanks. So then it's really an 8 pointer...??? For us on the west coast, that would be a 3 pointer as we don't count the eye guards.

Also wondering how good the venison in your neck of the woods taste? Is it a corn fed buck?

no, it was a ten pointer...kinda hard to see in that pic. it wouldve been a 5 pointer out there! the meat is great. it was mostly soybean/white oak acorn fed.

Yeah.....it's been years since I had venison......sure do miss it. So then, those "nubs" that I was referring to......I guess you saying kinda hard to see means that they are indeed an inch long?

I was sent the attached, with the subject line "10-pointer" and body of the message "Amazing rack on this one"

Not that I disagreed, but certainly not what I was expecting during archery season.

I would say that is a very respectable rack during archery season...excellent form must have been used to aquire that beauty :brows:

In Utah we don't count the eye guards either.....and only one side......so it's a four point buck...

Only mule deer....alot of them....but there have been reports of white tail sightings in southern Utah....but only 2 of them....and no pictures to prove it!

They multiply like rabbits.
If you have a few now, it won't be long before the car-deer collisions escalate.

But housewives across the state will be so much safer hitting little whitetail instead of the mules or elk!

Even better yet....with the Christmas season....would have been cool having a blinking red bulb attached to the nose.....Talk about traumatizing kids & soccer mom's for life!!!:rotflmao2::ya:

I place a blinking light bulb on my deer head mount each Christmas....wife hates it!!!:rotflmao2:
