I just bought my step-dad a lever action Marlin 30-30 today. He's gonna mess his pants on Christmas! He's "old school" so I know he will like this old faithful bush gun.

Between me and my Ar-15 and him and his 30-30 the local coyotes don't stand a chance!:synister:

I have always loved those guns. I think more deer have been killed with them than all guns combined. They truely are the guns that won the west.

Give him my best regards and I hope you both have a nice Christmas, GRIZZ

Yes, if I recall that is an actual fact....those guns have killed more of EVERYTHING than any other gun.

i believe u'd have to say that the cartridge has taken more deer than any other cartridge. Henry and Winchester actually are responsible for the popularity of the cartridge.

I have on in 30-30 and one in 44mag. Its a toss up which one I grab on my way the the woods. I am absolutely sure either one could handle anything in Oklahoma.

I've got the Marlin 30-30 XLR which shoots the new Hornady LeveRevolution ammo with the flexible rubber tip on the end. The claim is more FPS and a flatter trajectory over the standard 30-30 standard round. Looking to take my 1st deer with it within the next couple weeks here in KS. Good call on picking up the 30-30 rifle for your pops...
