You are better off getting the Rock Krawler coil conversion or the EVO system. Fab Tech doesn't have the best reputation for people who use their vehicles in off road conditions.

I would go for Off Road Evolutions stuff before I bought anything from Fabtech! The Fabtech guys are arrogant a holes and IMO their stuff and customer service is crap. ORE specializes in Jeeps and they take great pride in their coilover parts, why would you want to go with something different?

Fab Tech makes a quality product for other vehicles - not seen any great write- ups on the JK. I would choose Teraflex or Full Traction. There are other Suspension Companies out there - and you will have to do your Research.
Suggest you Google - "JK Suspension Lift Kits" - and you will find all who make Products for the JK that are not on our Sponsor List.

Fabtech does a good job marketing their stuff with great pictures for you to look at. I have had many lifted trucks and have had Fabtech stuff and friends who have had Fabtech stuff. My experience is their stuff is crap, and I wouldn't make the mistake of buying their stuff again. Also they are your best friends until they have your money, they they act like you are asking for the world when you have any problems you ask for help with.
Ya I don't have "REAL WORLD FEEDBACK" on Fabtechs coilover kit for the JK, but even if their kit was the best stuff out, I wouldn't even consider it because of their dismal customer service.

the only reason why you aren't seeing any responses regarding this kit is because nobody i know has it. also, i would be warry about installing a coilover kit unless you know for a fact that it has been dialed in for a jk. like ctimrun, i have an off road evolution evo flex setup on my jk and can tell you that it rides, handles and performs outstandingly. also, i know for a fact that off road evolution has spent thousands of dollars fine tuning and dialing in their coilovers to insure you get the absolute best ride possible. and, being that THEY ARE A SPONSOR HERE, you know you can count on them to answer any questions you might have and help you in any way that you need. likewise, they make frequent trips out to dubai and work with an affiliate there so you can also get support from them that way as well. need i say, you can do all the research on the net you want but when it comes to quality products and customer service you can count on, you'll only be able to find it here JK-Forum.com :yup:

These coilover kits are very expensive, I wanted to do it right the first time and not be a beta tester for someone. Actually now that I know Mel and crew, I would feel comfortable beta testing for them cause I see their pride in this kind of work, but that is a different story.
I know how much time Mel and has put into testing and tuning and know my suspension is very dialed in, and if it needs to be adjusted for whatever reason know he will take care of it for me, as he already has. Customer service is a huge reason I buy from certain people, and Mel's customer service, just like David at Northridge can't be beat!

Fabtech caters more to the Glamis/Baja crowd and I think this is just an afterthought for them. Thats the feeling I got when I contacted them anyways...
Also, any system that does away with the upper arms and turns them into a radius arm system is going to limit axle movement at some point...

Nothing wrong with radius arms. They have been used for 40 years on several vehicles. Now thats not to say the fabtech kit is good, as I have zero experience with their kit. But there is no reason to say radius arms suck unless you have some knowledge to back it up.

the radius arms arent bad, but the flex that the coilover provides is limited by the radiuas arm.......almost defeats the purpose. just buy two BB and stack them ontop of eachother...same results:crazyeyes:

A radius arm "rotates" the diff with the radius being the length of the lower arm. A four link system keeps the diff in the same attitude as it travels up and down. The twisting or rotation that the radius system does twists the main spring, shock mounts and all steering parts. Not good.
It is not the best system and I feel the 4 link is far better.

What greenmachine07 said.
I guess maybe for dune stuff where articulation isn't as important it'd be OK, but Fabtech markets the system as a "crawler" system...

nope, nothing wrong with radius arms if all you are looking for is big vertical travel like desert race trucks see. while radius arms have been used for 40 years, rock crawling and the demand for big articulation that we see today is still relatively new. and, if articulated travel is what you are looking for, by design, radius arms will limit your flex or at least by comparison to a 4 link design. does this mean radius arms won't flex? not at all. however, forcing radius arms to flex will put it's bushing in an extreme state of bind and this will cause them to fail quickly.

Interesting info... good to know... I had always thought radius arms were the better set up (my bro did a SAS on his bronco and used them...) Maybe for different vehciles they can be set up different :dontknow2::dontknow2:... cuz he BEATS on his rig and it still does exceptional in the rocks and tearing across the desert at high speed. Heres a pic of my brother proud of his flex

please don't misunderstand me. i never said that radius arms would prevent you from playing on the rocks or that they wouldn't flex. all i am saying is that they simply will not offer AS MUCH flex as a 4 link setup or at least, not without blowing out their bushing very quickly. radius arms provide a solution to the problem of how to go long arm. however, time and experience has taught us that IF you are looking for extreme flex, a 4 link design will do it better.

Radius arm suspension, Am I right to think that the bushings being in a bind is somewhat due to having two upper control arms pushing and pulling in opposite directions during articulation. Don’t some manufactures eliminate this by using an upper and lower control arm on one side and on the opposite side you would only have a single lower arm and no upper?

Look man its your jeep and if you like it test it out!! its most likely not going to fail you but it might not be as good as others its all from testing with trial and error
look dont other people bring you down
personal i think it looks sick and have seen it run a dodge straight axle trucks and it is awesome so im sure it will great on a jeep
any complete lift is going to be pretty good

if i'm understanding what you are trying to say, yes. also, there is only one company that i know of who is making something like you are describing but even at that, it is little more than a work around to a problem as opposed to being a better solution.

test it out?? :rotflmao1: don't get me wrong but this is a coilover kit that requires you to do a lot of hacking and welding. in other words, there is no turning back if you later find that your tests are less than stellar. likewise, just because it "looks sick" or that you have "seen" a similar kit run on a dodge truck doesn't mean that this kit will be "awesome" on a JK. contrary to what you seem to understand, coilover kits are very difficult to dial in and just because it comes complete doesn't mean that it'll even offer a decent ride on the highway. of course, being that it uses a radius arm design, your flex would be limited as well or at least when compared to a 4-link setup. while you may see people trying to bring the OP down, i see people with real experience trying to offer sound advice. and, when it comes to something as expensive and extensive as a coilover kit, i would think that everyone would be grateful for this kind of advise. but hey, that's just me.

Have never used FT personally so I won't say anything negative about them, but I don't recommend you spending your hard earned money to "test them out" per say on a system this advanced. Personally I'd recommend you research (as you are) on the very limited JK coilover systems available now and research the feedback on what's hotornot as you've seen in the replies on your thread. Never boil it down to "a" system because it looks neato or someone says it's crap or this one is better, rather...research for genuine feedback like this site and others as well as just searching online can offer. It costs nothing to ask questions and inquire on capabilities, longevitiy, dependability, ride, etc, especially on a system that averages $3-$5k (just for the front). My reply is unbiased on any system whether mentioned in this thread or not, but you have been given some great advice from everyone.
Good luck chief!

Going with coilovers is a huge step and I would consider the TYPE and AMOUNT of wheeling you do to see if you really need/want them. There are many lift kits that only improve the already great functionality of the factory coil spring system.
I have been driving and building Jeeps for over 20 years and coilovers are the latest craze that rock crawlers have borrowed from desert racers.
As has been said, spend a good amount of time behind the wheel off pavement to determine if the added benefit is worth the cost.
I have seen guys with less built Jeeps outdrive plenty of blinged out, high dollar rigs over and over again.
Of course, it's a free country and great Jeeps are built- not bought, as the saying goes.

I have a buddy thats been in the rock crawlin business for 20 years. I brought up the same feedback about Fabtech vs others. Mentioned that they seem to cater towards trucks and not Jeeps. He told me that he prefers Fabtech. Said they have a great research and development department and you wouldnt go wrong buying their products.
My 2 cents
Second thing, im torn between FT and Fabtech. When will EVO come out with a suspention system? Or can you order FT without the front springs shocks and get the EVO coilover.

I am almost certain that the FT Long Arm upgrade is what you need. From there you can add your coil overs and add your track bars.
I believe the FT long arm components are the same for the 3",4" 6" long arm kits.
I know a few members that have had the 3 inch system, and swap to 4 inch or even 6 inch with a spring swap.
One thing to consider is also your driveshaft length and shock length and brake lines
a 4" lift requires less than a 4" long arm...just keep that in mind when you price it all out:thumbsup:
PS I am biased on the FT...I love it

I'm no expert, but seems like the endlinks should've been longer. Also, like it was stated before, the overall flex (both arms in the down position) will be increased, what rock crawlers look for is opposing flex (passenger side flexed while driver side is compreseed or vice versa), thus reflecting situations while playing in rocks.
But since you are in Dubai, I bet that it'll work nicely for you.
Lots of blue, and my fiance thought that my coilovers were not matching the body color.
