Has anyone used 4ws for a hemi swap? Thinking of pulling the trigger and just checking all of the swapers out there. Any help?

4ws or 4wheelersupply.com is based in Springfield, MO. They do great work, I have seen the owner's JK in person while the swap was going on. He has driven his all around the country with no problems. He has his build documented on video on his site. This winter, he is going up to 42's and dropping Dana 60's underneath with an Atlas Transfer case...:eek2::thumbsup:

Houston 0, I also live in Houston and Gerry from Sceaming Lizard Customs is picking up my Jeep tomorrow and they are doing my 5.7 6 spd std. trans Hemi swap. You need to check out there web site and give Gerry a call, as soon as you talk with him they will be doing your Hemi swap too. They use the own wire harness that are made from the company who makes the harness for Mopar. The best parts is that they are part of a Mopar Dealership's side business and they can get the parts you need fast. They done a lot of hemi swaps and I did a lot of research before I pull the trigger.:thumbsup:
Thanks,Tim

Here is the email I got back from 4ws.com when I inquired about the 5.7 with Manual transmission:
Morning Sir, We use the G238 transmission out of the large trucks. The cost on this swap will be roughly $19,200 that includes the engine and transmission with a Chrysler 1 Year warranty and all the other parts needed for the swap. We can also do any other work you want done while it's here I.E lift kit, gears, lockers, wheels and tires Ect. It normally takes 2 to 2.5 weeks to do a swap so it would be best to drop the jeep off the pick it up when it's done.
And it says on the AEV website that they are in fact working on a Snorkel Kit for the Hemi.

Hey guys! I want you guys to know that SLC is here in Texas and we are part of a Mopar Dealership. We bring Mopar and Nissan factory trained techs and myself a factory tech to the conversion process. We do a different conversion than most. Custom True Dual exhaust, custom harness and flash from Hotwire Auto, Custom Radiator, and much more. I would like to offer our services as a Vendor and Sponsor of JK-Forum to all that are looking for Hemi Conversions done or Parts to do it yourself, Lifts, Axles, Bumpers, Rock Rails, Lockers, and anything else you can think up. Please feel free to call or e-mail us.

Gerry, so you guys don't use the AEV kit when doing your 6.1s? Does doing it yourself eliminate the "dead spot" that people have mentioned, due to the tranny not really being set up for the 6.1? Do you guys also do the 6.4 like BOR? Also, do you have any word on the A580 conversion?

The hesitation is really the trans and pcm relation. This is true on some products of ours depending on application. The drive by wire is the root source. Things are being worked on to update these items and to adress the really low idle that seems to make the Ho Rod applications have idles really low. Our LJ and Brute have some lag at first acceleration simmilar to some 1500 Hemis i have driven. We do our own set up for now because it is different and custom, but we are a AEV dealer and will use there kit when they are available again.
6.4L Hemi install will be when a customer says iI want one and then the install will happen. We love the challenges of doing anything a customer may dream up.

Thanks SaharaBlackNo1, for bringing it up again! I had not gotten any answers up until now. Being a newbie I’ve been trying not to stir the pot.

GI JOE are you sure they're using the SRT8 auto tranny and not the 545rfe? I didn't think anyone was using the A580 yet, which I believe is the auto backing all the SRT8s.

We are not doing the w5a580 yet. Have had some reserve using the trans meant for street use. The Grand, 300, and the Challenger use this trans. I don't know it needs to be tried to see what it can do. The 545RFE has been a good trans for Mopar.
When we get a chance or AEV does that might be a good idea to try.
