The kit.

1. Lower the Air Dam by removing the four plastic screws and rivets. You will unscrew the screw all the way then pull out the rivet. The reason you will need to remove the air dam is to get to the inside of the bumper for bolting on the ligth bar later.
http://my.project-jk.com/data/500/CIMG1244.jpg
2. Line up the light bar 1 1/4 inches from the rear of the bumper lip. Then with a pencil mark the hole inside each end of the light bar. I made a pencil line at the 1 1/4 mark to ensure it was perfectly straight.
http://my.project-jk.com/data/500/CIMG1247.jpg
3. Center punch the mark.
http://my.project-jk.com/data/500/CIMG12491.jpg
4. Drill a 7/16 hole. Going through the plastic is like butter and is 3/4 deep till you hit the steel of the bumper support. Then drill a 3/4 hole only through the plastic bumper.
http://my.project-jk.com/data/500/CIMG1250.jpg
5. Insert the 3/4 inch washers.
http://my.project-jk.com/data/500/CIMG1256.jpg
6. Line up the light bar. Drop the bolts through the hole and rach under the bumper and attach and tighten the nuts.
http://my.project-jk.com/data/500/CIMG1246.jpg
7. Hammer in caps at each end of bar.
http://my.project-jk.com/data/500/CIMG1258.jpg
FINISHED! Now install the lights....

Looks good. How did you hook up the lights? Seperate switch, or tie into the other fogs?

Is there any way to run the wires through the bumper? I prefer them concealed....
Also what KC's are those? Did you get the 6" RND TITANIUM SLIMLITE KIT?

Exellent write-up, I followed the directions and pics and installed mine. The switch is easy to mount also.
Now... can someone please do a write-up on how and where to wire the lights??? I have the KC slim lights that come with a nice wire harness but Im totaly lost when it comes to electrical.

Excellent write-up, and thank you. I have been looking at that exact bar myself. I have a pair of Cibie Oscar+ ready to go.
You should consider replacing your stock headlights with the Cibie Euro-code lights as per my write-up several months ago.

For this type of light bar, whats teh best type of lights to get as a Kit? I have the factory fog lights, but want more lights (for looks and for practicality). Do I go with Fog lights, Driving lights, or long range lights, and what brand do most people get, KC, Delta, Hella?

I used the KC SlimLite Series Driving Pair 130W Ice Blue Halogen in Titanium Finish and the install was easier then I expected. The wiring harness is perfect fit. I used the plasting conduit to cover wires and routed along existing harness. I am very pleased with the light output and they look great!

bringing it back to life. With that bumper can you still mount a winch on the front? A winch is on my to do list. I am either going to mount it on top of the stock bumper or do the behind the bumper that is in the write up section.

Any chance you can have the KC lights wired into the high beams? Would you locate the highbeam fuse and the as soon as you flick on highbeams these lights would kick in and visa versa??? Is there a write-up for this procedure???

You run the white wire in the KC harness from the switch, to the green/white headlight wire.

Most jurisdictions will require that these type of lights:
a) be able to be turned off independent of the high beams;
b) light only in concert with the high beams.
That said, I always used a SPDT center off for my brights one side connected to the high beam wire, the other live, so I could run with them on independent of the high beams if I wanted.

You run the white wire in the KC harness from the switch, to the green/white headlight wire.
Did you tap into the drivers side headlight? On the passenger side headlight you use the white/grey wire for high beams.

Does anyone know if someone makes switches that will fit into the existing switch (button) panel below the stereo? I'm referring to the area that has hazards and ESP OFF Buttons. I would love to use that area for switches for a winch, additional lighting or maybe even a passenger ejection seat when on a bad date. (Put out of fly out) :rotflmao1:
Any info or ideas would be awesome!

After a brutal winter in northern Illinois the ONLY rust on my jeep is on the ProComp light bar. I'm not happy with the quality of the finish on this at all.
Here are some pics to show the weak spots at the welds that have corroded.
Now the question is what to do? Sand them down and repaint or find a place to powder coat them. Any ideas?
Nice design - Poor finish, and no warranty info available that I can find.

Looks like the wire-wheel is gonna have to come out.
I would just repaint since I'm cheap, but i guess it depends on how much u care about the looks.
But thanks for the heads up, I just ordered one of these yesterday (along with a couple lightforce 170 strikers). Ill have to remember to wipe it down.

Can someone answer this quickly for me. I am in the middle of this install and have a question. Once I drilled out the holes in the bumper, adn drop down the sleeve thing, its hitting the solid steel bumber support underneath. How am I suppose to tighten the bolts without drilling through that solid steal support? I dont get what holds this in place with it being drilled? Can comeone please answer me quickly if possible as I would love to finish this before its gets to dark tonight :)

you drill a 7/16 hole all the way through the plastic and the metal then open up the plastic hole to 3/4.the bolt is 7/16

That would make more sense, so I do have to drill through the metal.... Gotcha....
