Okay, so now that I've had a chance to see, sit in and drive several Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimiteds, here are a few things that I've noticed about them that I think are worth pointing out.

http://www.jk-forum.com/uploaded/jk-unlimited/sahara-dash.jpg
1. Not only is the Sahara the only JK that comes with color matched fenders, they are also the only JK Wrangler model to come with this nice silver trim in the instrument cluster. Call me silly, but I kind of like it. :D

2. Although the standard upholstery fabric is quite nice in the JK Wrangler X, I have to say that the YES Fabric that comes standard in the Saharas and Rubicons are in my opinion much nicer.

3. I don't know how I missed it before but certainly, one of the reasons why the new JK Wranglers are so quiet is because they now come with a nice thick underhood liner.

4. See, now this, in my opinion, is a great idea! How many TJ guys do you know who has door hinge nuts with the paint all beat to crap. The only thing I don't like about this feature is the fact that it's a Torx Bolt.

5. Well, if you're not planning to fold your rear seats down, let me tell you there is a crap load of space under them!! I'll bet Tuffy or Bestop could make some very cool storage bins that would fit very nicely under here to store tools and recovery gear.

6. Up front and on the floor, DC got rid of the floor mat snaps and replaced them with these cool little hooks.

7. Okay, this was a bit wierd for me. If you can believe it, these switches on the back of the center console are for the rear window. Funny thing is, I honestly thought they were originally a part of the center console hinge :embarrased:

If I think of anything else, I will be sure to post it.

DC should hire you to do their photos. These are by far the best pix yet, even better than the jeep.com website pix. Taken with a level of detail that only a true jeeper could appreciate. Better than any virtual tour. Great job. Must have taken a lot of time. We appreciate it!

Excellent pictures and findings! I was kind of wondering where the switches for the rear windows were. I think I'll upgrade to the Sahara when I'm ready! DC should pay you comission for changing some of our minds!! (wishful thinking):naw:

:embarrased: Thanks guys, I'm sincerely flattered but in all honesty, I was just taking shots of the things I was looking at. :)

Nice macro pics.

The underhood pad was on my 05 LJ too. As were the carpet hooks. I yanked the pad and snapped off the hook already:D

Also , I saw a pic of a rubicon dash and it looked like it had the silver trim.

Those great pictures helped me realize what the wires on the
underside of my hood were for... my engine compartment light
is missing.

I think you can get the silver trim around the gauge cluster if you get the "S" package on the X.

I got the S package on my X in Sept, and my guages are not silver trimmed. Not that I want it. A wee bit flashy for my taste.

The Rubicon comes with the silver trim standard like the Sahara.

The pad has another nice function. A salesman explained to me that this is an engine fire blanket. In the event of an engine fire, the specially designed plastic clips melt, allowing the blanket to drop onto the engine and theoretically smother the fire.

Either that, or the salesman thought I looked stupid and would believe anything he said.
