I don't know for sure but I would bet that it's 5.5" of backspacing just like the TJ. I will try to make some calls and find out for sure :)

The offset is very close to the stock TJ. As for width and bolt pattern the bolt pattern is 5x5 YES a 5-inch bolt circle.

Thanks for the detailed info! Would you happen to know if you could run a 15" wheel or are the 16"+ wheels needed to clear the brakes?

From what I understand, the brakes are not that much larger than the TJ. With this in mind, some 15-inch wheels should fit, as long as they are not steel wheels with the small diameter centers welded into a 15-inch rim. Of course, all wheels should be test fit front and rear before making the deterination that they fit the vehicle.

A good off road shop will always test fit a wheel front and rear to be sure it clears the brakes ect. before sending you down the road. They don't want the call back if they don't fit quite right.

The real question will be the 5x5 bolt pattern. This will mean a whole new batch of wheels will need to be produced as 5x5 is a new bolt pattern for the Jeep and off road wheels in general.

Why they don't step to the 5 on 5.5 that is standard? Cost wasn't a problem!. They do the same thing Ford do when they reveal the new F150 in 97 a think but hey, I don't think jeep will sell as much JK as F150 so be prepare to pay a prenium for aftermarket wheels.

Well, worst comes to worst, I suppose you could always install a set of 5x5 to 5x5.5 wheel adapters. Granted, you'd have to take the extra 1" of back spacing they will give you into account when shopping for new wheels but at least you could just throw on a set of black steel wheels :)
