For those of you who’ve been asking to see some videos of the Project-JK Jeep JK Wrangler in action, here’s a quick video that Matt (doojer), his cameraman Whit and his awesome production crew put together for us heading up Last Chance Canyon. As mentioned, the footage is short and the trail is easy but I think you’ll enjoy what you see. If you do, we will be sure to try and do more videos on runs we do in the future. And, if you want to be included in them, you had better be sure to come out and join us.
Click on the pic below to PLAY the video in Quicktime or Windows Media Player:

Very nice.
The JK is a beast off road no matter what people say I think Jeep scored big with this one.

That's a very cool video.
Sure was nice to have professionals put it together using HD cameras and not me with a little handycam and home PC :D

For sure. doojer has a Sahara with open diffs and although it took just a wee bit more effort to do, he was able to make it over everything we did in our Rubicon. And, of all the Jeep's I've owned and wheeled (including my 6" lifted built up TJ), I can tell you the JK is simply the best one ever made :yup:

For those PC users who aren't opposed to it, you can get Quicktime for free at Quicktime.com and you can choose the player only (no iTunes) to avoid the additional "crap". :)

Cool video. Looks like the Sahara needed a little more "motivation" to get over some of the rocks. How do you feel the BLD did. I know it's not a locker, but I'm in the same situation and wondering if locking it is worth the cost.

Without it, I know I would have had a harder time getting over stuff. Honestly, I think the biggest advantage the Rubi has is the 4:1 low-range gearing. It's a bit harder to get slow, controlled movement with the Sahara/X's low-range. I'll probably add a locker someday, but the BLD helps enough where it doesn't seem essential yet. Maybe WOL has some more thoughts on this.

Yup, it works surprisingly well but as doojer said, what would really make a difference is a t-case with 4:1 gearing like the Rubicon has as opposed to the 2.72:1 that the Sahara and X come with. Fortunately, all JK's come with NV241's and I think it'll just be a matter of time before someone comes out with a 4:1 swap kit :yup:
Of course, there really is no substitute to Lockers but I think you find that you can do quite a bit without them too :yup:

The BLA is awesome. I've only wheeled open diff jeeps in the past. with 5.13 gears and the 6 speed. My 1st gear is really low...
The JK will run circles around my TJ....
Nice Video!

It really is amazing what the new Rubi Unlimited can do. As I have mentioned before, I have a totally built up TJ on a 6" long arm kit and no joke, my Rubi can out wheel it anyday of the week.

Hey WOL & Doojer-
The video was a big hit in our household. My wife and I watched it 3times and the kids were dancing to the tunes. We're off to the hills today - all reved up.
Looking forward to the mudding video next.
