Okay so i went to turn on my DTRL and they went on but when you use your directional the headlight on that side would go out..hmm so i call procal and was told to use the european mode the only trick is when the parking break is set all the lights go out.. So if you have a 6 speed and you thought it didnt work try again.

Yeah that is how they are on every european/manual trans vehicle that I have ever worked on or driven:yup:

I was following my wife yesterday and she noticed the same thing.
I programed DRL with the procal for the headlights, then when turn signal is on that side light goes out. First I said WTF? Something wrong?
Apparently not.
Thanks for posting this yendor65.

I programmed mine last week and noticed the same thing while waiting behind a pick up to make a left turn. Good to know, thanks!

I know already!
NORMAL/CANADIAN MODE:
In Normal/Canadian mode the lights of your choosing (high beam, low beam, fog lights, turn signals) are lit when the vehicle is in gear or moving depending on transmission.
Automatic transmission vehicles will turn the selected lights on when the vehicle is in any gear but park. Manual transmission vehicles will need to be moving before the lights come on, and still for moment before they turn off again.
In this mode, the headlights will only light to about half vehicle voltage or ~6V, low or high beams. The other light locations will fully illuminate since they are not on dimmable circuits.
EUROPEAN MODE:
All lights all the time(even when turn signals are ON). This mode is exactly like driving around with your headlights on. Full brightness, and lamp location is irrelevant. I suspect this will cut down on bulb life, but there is no chance of forgetting your lights.

Not sure why but mine does not do this.....I programed it with the procal and my lights come on then I release the parking brake and turn off if I pull it up. Was your P-brake set when you did the programing?? Mine was set while programing so maybe that is why mine reads off the brake and not the turn signals??:dontknow2::dontknow2:
Either way I am very happy with my DRL's

If you are running a manual AEV set up the programming so the DRL would only be on when the parking brake is off. It doesn't look to see if you are in a gear unless you have the auto.
I also did it to mine but with the directionals to come on when its going into gear. It is an auto . Seems to work fine.
