My nephew got a CJ5 for his 16th birthday. It needs a lot of work he need to a conversion kit for the front brakes to goto disk but he is on a budget anyone have any idea's?

when i had to change the break rotor on my 1980 cj5, i think it was an oldsmobile part#. i'd just get an aftermarket set up and save time and money building a puzzel. before investing in that i would go through everything mechanical with a fine tooth comb especially the electrical and prevent him from being stranded somewhere. as money permits than do upgrades. I drove my cj5 for years on drum brakes. the only time i had problems was in wet conditions.

Go to JP magazine. Also google jeep disc brake. I just did mine last summer using information off the internet.
Rotors are off a CJ-7, calipers of 71 chev 4x4.
You can buy new or salvage.
Use a master cylinder from a CJ-7 with disc brakes, 81 or newer.
