I entered in a local camera club competition...Redlands Camera Club.

I entered it in the apprentice class and the photojounalism catagory.

It won 1st place.

Today June 24 I got a call from a local newspaper, Redlands Daily Facts, they want to do a story of the 1st place winners at that competition and asked if they could run my photo in the paper.

I realize that it isn't Nat Geo and there is an excellent chance I'd never become a professional photographer (I've been a Deputy Sheriff for 23 years) but it's still a nice feeling to have some local recognition...even if it is shared with the other winners.
