Hello to all of my fellow XJ enthusiasts. I am new to these forums, hope to spend more time here from now on.
I was trying to figure out where the new noise was coming from at idle, sounded like loose exhaust mounts, upon visual inspection, I quicly realized that I had a right rear shock broken at the mount at the body end of the shock, the bracket that mounts to the uni-body is broken in half. The shock was rattling against the exaust tubing and making the sound I heard. I am looking to replace all 4 shocks anyways, looking for decent street ride but outstanding off-road performance and as usual, I am on a budget (as I have my eye on other more important goodies for the jeep) so if anyone could give me some advice on which shock I should be looking for, I would sincerely appreciate it.
