7 Things That Make the Wrangler One of the Greats

One of the beautiful things about a company celebrating a big anniversary is that it gives you full autonomy to brag about it as much as you want. Not that anyone here really needs a reason to brag about a Jeep.

We pretty much do that 24-hours a day here at JK Forum. Still, with such a monumental mark like the brand’s 75th Anniversary upon us, there’s an even bigger reason to rave about the Wrangler.

So, in the spirit of 75 years on the road, and the evolution that comes with that, we’ve narrowed down seven things that make the Jeep Wrangler one of the greatest vehicles in the world.

1 . True American at Heart – Ever since the first Jeep rolled off the assembly line during World War II, the topless off-roader has stayed true to its American roots. Sure, the brand has gone on to manufacture some vehicles in other countries, but the heart of the Jeep Wrangler still resides in the U.S.

2. Tops All in Capability – The Rubicon, Moab, Engineer Pass — You name it, the Wrangler has proven itself over and over on some of the most challenging off-road terrain in the world. Then again, you don’t sport the name of a place as iconic as the Rubicon Trail on a model unless you’ve earned your stripes.

3. Imitated by Everyone – If it’s true that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then the Wrangler is a rolling example of that idea. I can’t think of any vehicle people try to duplicate as much as the Wrangler, even though it often comes off as comical. Of course, in the end, most come to realize you just can’t duplicate vehicles like the one above.

4. Global Icon – There’s no vehicle on the planet more recognizable than the Jeep Wrangler. Nope, not one. Which is one of the things that has always made it special, right? That unique look has earned the Jeep a fan base spanning from Detroit to the U.K., making it one of the most popular SUVs in the world.

5. Broad Fan Base – Be it women, men, teens, grandparents, or any other demographic you can think of, there’s just no way to nail down “the look” of a Wrangler owner. The Jeep is loved by people of various backgrounds, which has given the vehicle an extremely broad fan base.

6. Low Price, High Cool Factor – Tell me, where else can you get a new vehicle for around $22,000 or so, and still have kids drooling as you drive by? Practically none, right? I call it the “Jeep Effect” — although it’s really more specific to the Wrangler than any other Jeep. Even with the cost of adding a few custom features, those extra looks you get are still fairly inexpensive.

7. Classic – Nearly 75 years later, Jeeps are as timeless as when the first one rolled off the assembly line, and the Wrangler is a direct continuation of that timelessness. Here’s to the next 75 years.
