Chicago Cubs Manager’s Jeep Raffle Raises $300K for Charities
Remember that Chicago Cubs-themed Wrangler owned by Cubs manager Joe Maddon, which we reported on in early October?
Well, the raffle Maddon and his wife started to sell the Jeep has raised roughly $300,000 for local Chicago charities, according to a local ABC 7 news report. So, I guess you could say that the team’s World Series crown has scored a few wins that go far beyond the sport of baseball.
The Jeep, donated by Fields Auto Group, features everything from a red grille to a custom gear shift with the handle of a baseball bat.
The organizations that will receive the money from the raffle include the Cubs Charities and Misericordia, a residential care service for children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities. But we can only imagine that somewhere in Chicago right now, there’s a huge Cubs fan riding around in the Jeep who feels he’s scored a huge win as well.
