The Cornfield 500 Is So America It Hurts

The good ‘ol U.S. of A is really the only country where an event like this could happen. Building a truck or ORV that really only exists to be tall enough to successfully drive through mud bogs is, when you think about it, an absurdity that only we could think of. These trucks aren’t particularly well-suited to doing much else, but maybe that’s the essence of what makes them interesting.

From the video below, you can see that the course includes a jump that leads into a 90-degree left turn, which is difficult for some of these jacked-up monsters to navigate. Possibly the best part, however, is the second big jump that leads directly into a muddy pool of water that is at least a few feet deep.

There are a handful of Jeeps involved in this apparently timed racing event, and some of them look to be doing quite well. What do you think? Would you take your Jeep to compete in the Cornfield 500?
